DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Banks Administrator to join our team specializing in Finance for our Customer Collections Department in Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Perform daily reconciliations and month-end bank close reconciliations.
Ensuring the accurate and timely administration/ completion of the accounting process in line with the company policies and procedures
Collaborate with stakeholders and develops partnerships to drive performance that aligns to organizational goals and strategies; influences the organization by demonstrating knowledge of the business to provide guidance to support the decision-making process and guiding the business towards positive results and organizational alignment; evaluates business environment using measures to mitigate risk and capitalize on opportunities.
Prepare standard bank journal entries, process miscellaneous receipts for refund, following up and clearing of bank aged reconciling items and clear the unallocated deposit and payment listing with the stakeholders.
Engage with the branches/internal teams for capturing and resolving queries.
Query and resolve long outstanding or unidentified deposit with the relevant banks.
Ensure that the escalation is done in timely manner to avoid long outstanding bank entries.
Prepare SL & GL month end close and timely prepare reconciliation of General Ledger accounts.
Consolidate and submission of the audit packs details for year end.
RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
Strong Financial Analysis Skills: Ability to interpret financial data, analyze trends, variances, and risks, and provide insights to stakeholders to drive business improvements.
Expertise in Financial Internal Controls: Proficiency in assessing and developing internal controls to mitigate financial reporting risks and adapt to changing business needs.
Knowledge of Financial Regulations: Understanding of relevant financial regulations (e.g., tax, banking, pension) to ensure compliance and effectively communicate their implications to stakeholders.
Action-Oriented Approach: Enthusiasm and urgency in tackling new opportunities and challenges, demonstrating high energy and a proactive mindset.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/ Experience:
High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
A two year University degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred.
Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
