Armed Security Officer – Overnight Patrol
Must be 21 years of age or older to apply.
We are looking for a dependable, professional, and safety-focused Armed Security Officer to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who is experienced in patrol security, comfortable working independently, and able to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
The ideal candidate takes pride in providing excellent security and customer service while maintaining a highly visible presence and professional appearance throughout their shift.
Schedule 1
- Monday: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
- Tuesday: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
- Wednesday: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
- Thursday: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
- Friday: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
- 40 hours per week
- $19.00 per hour
Schedule 2
- Saturday 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
- Sunday: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
- 16 hours per week
- $350.00 per week
Pay & Training
Training Rate: $15.00/hour
Regular Patrol Rate: $19.00/hour after successful completion of training
Paid Training Includes:
- One-week Security Training Academy
- Utah Guard Card classroom training requirements
- Hands-on training and on-the-job preparation
- Field Training Officer (FTO) training

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a highly visible presence at the front of the building.
- Monitor and verify individuals entering the building.
- Check residents against the approved resident checklist.
- Conduct hourly patrols throughout the property.
- Complete all required patrol checkpoints and documentation.
- Maintain a visible security presence to deter unauthorized or illegal activity.
- Monitor the property for suspicious activity, safety concerns, and security vulnerabilities.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, incidents, and emergencies.
- Handle conflicts professionally and de-escalate potentially dangerous situations.
- Contact and cooperate with law enforcement or emergency personnel when required.
- Operate and monitor security equipment, including CCTV and surveillance systems.
- Provide assistance and professional customer service to residents, employees, clients, and visitors.
- Communicate professionally with clients, callers, residents, and management.
- Document and report incidents, suspicious activity, safety concerns, and other security-related matters.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, post orders, and safety requirements.
Qualifications & Skills
We’re looking for candidates who are:
- 21 years of age or older.
- Experienced in related security environment.
- Professional, dependable, and reliable.
- Safety-conscious and committed to protecting people and property.
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
- Customer-service oriented.
- Skilled at communicating clearly and professionally with clients and callers.
- Coachable, open to feedback, and willing to continue learning.
- Able to remain calm, focused, and professional under pressure.
- Able to make sound decisions and exercise good judgment without constant supervision.
- Team-oriented with strong communication skills.
- Experienced with or willing to learn surveillance and CCTV systems.
- Strong in conflict management, problem-solving, and situational awareness.
Additional Qualifications:
- Must possess a valid armed guard license or be able to obtain one.
- Previous experience in law enforcement or military service is highly desirable.
- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of security protocols and procedures is preferred.
Grooming & Uniform Standards
Our armed officers represent the company and are expected to maintain a clean, professional, and well-presented appearance at all times while on duty.
Officers are expected to:
- Maintain a clean, complete, and properly worn uniform.
- Maintain professional grooming and personal hygiene.
- Wear all duty gear securely, safely, and professionally.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while on duty.
- Comply with all company standards regarding uniforms, equipment, and appearance.
