POSITION SUMMARY
Christel House International is seeking a skilled and innovative Application and SQL Developer to join our dynamic team. This is a fully remote, full-time position at Christel House International. This role is critical to advancing our mission by maintaining and improving the data systems and applications that support our educational programs and services.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOINGData Management and Analysis:
Design, implement, and manage databases to support data-driven decision-making.
Develop and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security across all systems.
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify data needs and create reports that provide actionable insights.
Maintain and enhance data visualization tools, such as dashboards, to present key metrics.
Application Development:
Design, develop, and maintain applications to support various organizational needs, particularly in educational settings.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and develop app features that align with organizational goals.
Ensure apps are user-friendly, scalable, and meet high standards of quality and performance.
Perform troubleshooting and debugging of applications to ensure smooth operation.
Document processes, workflows, and project progress to ensure transparency and knowledge sharing.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
Stay current with industry trends and technologies to propose innovative solutions for data management and app development.
Identify opportunities to improve existing systems and processes, making them more efficient and effective.
Provide training and support to staff on the use of data systems and applications.
QUALITIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
Proven experience in data management, SQL, and database administration.
Experience in app development, including front-end and back-end development.
Strong understanding of data visualization and reporting tools.
Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, SQL, JavaScript, API implementation, or similar.
Familiarity with low-code applications like Zoho Creator.
Experience in IT customer service and UX (user-experience) design and implementation.
Experience in application security
SKILLS:
Strong technical proficiency and has a growth mindset to learn about new technologies related to application development and data processes.
Proficiency in SQL, database design, and data modeling.
Strong coding skills in app development frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or similar).
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple projects at a time.
Ability to work independently to drive a successful application implementation/development.
Experience working in the education or non-profit sector.
Knowledge of cloud-based data solutions and app deployment.
