Overview
The Machining Line Leader is responsible for supporting daily operations within the Machining department by ensuring production, quality, safety, and environmental standards are met. This position serves as a subject matter expert of the line assigned Machining line, while supporting employee training and providing leadership and team members.
Duties
- Lead and support daily machining department operations
- Manage all aspects of quality, safety, production and coaching opportunities
- Communicate and execute all change overs with Line Operators (General Associates)
- All end of shift information is accurate and recorded
- Train and assist associates on departmental procedures and work instructions
- Complete required production quality and assist in troubleshooting process issues
- Promote and maintain a safe work environment
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and departmental goals
- Implement process improvements using lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency and reduce waste
- Maintain accurate production documentation, including work orders, quality reports, and safety logs
Skills
- Proven factory experience with an understanding of manufacturing environments and / or machining processes
- Familiarity with measuring instruments, technical drawings, and interpreting production documents
- Demonstrated ability to manage production effectively in a fast-paced setting
- Knowledge of safety standards in production environments, including safety protocol adherence and process improvement initiatives
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting while maintaining safety compliance
- Experience in lean manufacturing practices and managing continuous process improvements is a plus
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and ensure smooth workflow
- Must be able to communicate effectively with associates, supervisors, engineering, quality, and management to ensure production, quality, safety and environmental requirements are met.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
- Frequently bend, stoop, reach and perform repetitive motions
- Lift, carry, push and pull materials weighing up to 55 pounds
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including chemical-resistant gloves, aprons, face shields, and safety glasses
- Ability to distinguish colors and read gauges, meters, labels, and process documentation

Pay: $21.81 – $25.32 per hour
