S B&K is looking for Yard Laborers!
The Yard Laborer position is a traveling position!
Responsibilities of the Yard Laborer:
- Perform all labor tasks involved in supporting the road crews, and general upkeep of the shop and yards.
- Assist with inventory on-site.
- Assist with audit preparation and re-organization.
- Load trailers and trucks accurately with all supplies and materials requested.
- Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.
- Deliver materials to yards using appropriate type of vehicles in a timely manner.
- During winter months, snow removal of walkways, driveways, and doorways at the facility.
- During warmer months, general yard work such as mowing, trimming, raking, etc. at the facility.
- Maintenance of unassigned vehicles and equipment located in the yards.
- Operate jackhammers, drills, and any other machinery necessary to complete tasks.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shop and yards.
- Ability to travel and stay out of town for several days in a row.
- Assist Yard Operators by placing lumber for barrier movement.
Skills and Qualifications of the Yard Laborer:
- No direct experience required! We will train you!
- Ability to learn products/inventory
- Ability to take and follow direction.
- Ability to travel/stay out of town for several days in a row is a must
Benefits offered to Yard Laborers:
- Starting rate of $16.00-$17.00 per hour, based on experience
- Extra $1.00 per hour when working a shift out of town!
- $25 per day per diem, when you stay overnight out of town
- Hotel is paid for when traveling!
- Medical/Dental/Vision insurance after 60 days of employment
- 90-day review with the opportunity for a rate increase (depending upon performance)
- optional Life Insurance, Short- and Long- Term disability after 1 year of employment
- 401k with company match, after 90 days of employment
- Opportunity to transfer to B&K’s Road Crew after 1 year of employment (pending hiring needs for Road Crew and your employment history in the Yard Laborer position)
