Job Purpose
Ensuring that electrical systems, components, and equipment are repaired, maintained, or installed according to project specifications and industry standards. The Workshop Supervisor ensures that projects are completed on time, within budget, and with a strong focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.
Required: Qualifications
Matric (Grade 12)
N6 Certificate in Electrical Engineering
ND in Electrical Engineering (Advantage)
3 Phase Wireman’s License (IE) (Advantage)
First Aid Level 1 (Advantage)
ORHVS Certificate (Advantage)
Required: Experience
3-5 years working in an electrical engineering workshop.
3-5 years of experience in a supervisory role, leading a team of technicians, electricians, or other skilled workers in the electrical engineering or manufacturing environment.
3 Years Fault Finding & Repairs.
3 years Electrical Experience in Panel Wiring
Job Specification & Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Supervision:
Supervising electricians and technicians, assigning tasks, providing training, and evaluating performance to maintain a skilled and efficient workforce.
Supervising and managing a team of installation technicians during installation work.
Assist with all workshop tasks and supervise technicians during panel wiring and testing electrical equipment.
Quality Control & Compliance:
Inspecting complete electrical work to ensure it meets technical specifications, industry standards, and client requirements and complies with safety regulations.
Conduct regular quality checks and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Project Coordination:
Scheduling projects, prioritizing repairs or installations, and ensuring timely completion of tasks while managing resources like tools, materials, and equipment.
Collaborate with project managers and engineers to review project requirements, timelines, and budgets. Coordinate with clients to identify and define project requirements, scope, and objectives.
Attend to any site related queries as required.
Safety Management:
Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company policies.
Conduct regular safety inspections, identify potential hazards, and implement safety procedures and training for staff.
Responsible for safety and housekeeping (on site & workshop).
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintaining accurate records of electrical drawings, work performed, safety inspections, and compliance reports, as well as preparing schedules or progress updates.
Report on the planned vs actual productivity Provide efficient and accurate agendas, reports & minute taking where required.
Inventory & Resource Management:
Manage the procurement and maintenance of workshop equipment and tools.
Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and ensure all resources are available to meet project requirements.
Problem Solving:
Troubleshooting complex electrical issues, providing technical guidance, and ensuring efficient resolution of faults or breakdowns.
General & Training:
Support the training and development of electricians, technicians, apprentices and other staff.
Assist in training technicians and interns, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
Attend to any site related queries as required.
Undertake other tasks and responsibilities appropriate to the level of this post as required from time to time.
