Minimum Requirements:

Education and experience:

· Qualified Diesel Mechanic.

· Experience in Workshop

· Valid Code 14.

· Experience at supervisor level.

· Computer literate – MS office.

· The ability to lead and motivate a team of technicians and staff.

· Effective communication with team members, customers, suppliers, and management.

· Strong organizational skills to manage schedules, resources, and workflows.

· Identifying and resolving technical and operational issues efficiently.

· Efficiently managing time and resources to meet deadlines and commitments.

· Skill in managing budgets, controlling costs, and ensuring profitability.

· Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices to maintain a safe work environment.

· Ensuring products or services meet quality standards and are delivered on time.

· Providing excellent customer service and addressing client needs and concerns.

· Managing inventory and procurement of supplies and spare parts.

· Understanding maintenance and repair procedures, including preventive maintenance.

· Building a cohesive and effective team, including hiring, training, and mentoring.

· Staying updated on relevant industry regulations and ensuring compliance.

Profitability

· Meeting revenue targets

· Managing cost by minimising expenses, such as labour, materials, and overhead costs, to maximize profitability.

· Increasing the profit margin by optimizing pricing strategies, reducing waste, and enhancing productivity is often a key goal.

· Manage within a predetermined budget and avoid cost overruns.

· Ensuring that the workshop staff is productive and efficient can contribute to higher profits.

Quality and service

· Ensuring that the work performed in the workshop is of high quality, meets industry standards, and is technically sound.

· Maintaining a high standard of quality in the products or services produced in the workshop is essential. This includes quality control, inspections, and ensuring that work meets or exceeds customer expectations.

· The workshop manager must focus on optimizing work processes and productivity. This involves resource allocation, workflow management, and eliminating bottlenecks to improve efficiency.

· The workshop manager should ensure that staff provides excellent customer service and addresses customer concerns or inquiries promptly.

Safety

· Ensuring that the workshop complies with all relevant safety regulations, standards, and legal requirements. This includes local, national, and industry-specific safety guidelines.

· Developing and implementing safety policies and procedures for the workshop. This includes creating safety protocols, conducting safety training, and enforcing safety rules.

· Providing ongoing safety training to employees, including hazard awareness, equipment operation, and emergency response procedures.

· Identifying potential safety hazards and risks in the workshop and taking measures to mitigate or eliminate them. This may involve conducting regular safety audits and inspections.

· Ensuring that appropriate PPE is provided, and employees are trained on its correct usage. Regularly monitoring and enforcing its use in the workshop.

· Communicating safety-related information to all employees, including updates on safety policies, procedures, and any changes in safety regulations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From R40 000,00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

Kruger National Park, Mpumalanga: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
