Woodshop Assistant – Event Prop Production Jobs in Norwalk, CA at The Simple Luxe Events & Builds
The Simple Luxe Events & Builds is a full service event design, production, and manufacturing company. Its two sub businesses are the events and builds. The events business produces custom backdrop installations, including specialty party rentals, and large balloon displays and offers full party planning services. The builds group manufactures event props such as bars and tables, 3D structures, custom builds, and trade show booth builds. Its current client base spans across North America offering self pickup and shipped products.
The Simple Luxe Events & Builds is looking for a Woodshop Assistant.
Responsibilities
- assembly of products from cnc cut parts using power tools like narrow crown staplers, drills, drivers, nailers, etc.
- painting products with tools including brushes, rollers, and sprayers
- surface preparation including putty filling and sanding
- custom fabricating parts using table saws, jig saws, miter saws, track saws, etc.
- Travel for custom on-site installation
- demonstrating product function for customer orders
- shop floor cleaning
- errands such as picking up wood and tools on order
- preparing backdrops and props for weekly orders from cleaning, repainting, repairs
- organizing warehouse rental inventory
- any other requirements need to fulfill orders
- shooting and creating content for social media
Minimum qualifications:
- able to work independently with minimal supervision
- attention to fine details
- capable of lifting up to 70 lbs
- excellent time management balancing quality and build schedule
- continuous physical activity including standing, bending and lifting
- active drivers license with good driving record
- experience with hand tools including, drills, drivers, circular/track saws, nailers/staplers, table saws and miter saws
- intermediate to advanced knowledge of fasteners and their appropriate use
- Ability to travel across country for trade shows and events
Desired qualifications:
- experience operating wood cutting cnc machines
- familiarity with MacOS
- knowledge of wood joinery techniques
The ideal candidate :
- will have excellent organizational skills, wear multiple hats, and be able to work in a fast pace environment.
- have experience with wood working as a hobby or position held
- enjoy working on hands on projects
- have an eye for aesthetics and ergonomics when designing and building products
Compensation dependent on experience
