We are seeking to employ a dynamic winemaker to join the Simonsig team.

Main Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Winemaking (white and red wines)
• Manage incoming grapes during harvest
• Fermentation management and control in tanks and barrels
• Tasting, blending and bottling of wines
• Management of wine quality control and cellar hygiene
• Staff management (cellar workers)
• Inventory control of wine and dry goods
• Conduct wine tastings and wine promotions
• Liaise with clients and suppliers
• Admin and recordkeeping with regards to winemaking
Requirements
• BSc in Agriculture Viticulture and Oenology OR Elsenburg Qualification in Cellar Technology or similar, with a main interest in Oenology
• Literate in Afrikaans and English
• 5 – 8 years’ relevant winemaking experience
• Computer literate
• Reliable own vehicle and valid driver’s license
• No criminal record
• Working hours are Monday to Thursday, from 07h00 – 17h00 and Friday, from 07h00 – 16h00
• Willingness to work additional hours when required as per the wine industry requirements
