About the Role
GIG Engineer is seeking an experienced and technically proficient WFM Integration Consultant on behalf of its client, a leading digital transformation solutions provider based in Johannesburg. This is a senior-level contract role focused on analysing, designing, configuring, and implementing workforce management solution integrations for clients across multiple industries.
You will work on complex integration projects involving UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) systems, Dell Boomi, and various third-party HR, payroll, and master data systems. This is a client-facing role requiring strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to guide customers through best practices and compliance requirements.
Note: This is an urgent requirement. The client is looking for candidates who can confidently demonstrate their technical knowledge and experience. We are seeking individuals who are not only impressive on paper but who can also substantiate their expertise in a technical interview setting.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign & Planning
- Understand the WFM blueprint and configure systems and integrations according to customer requirements
- Design new business and system processes
- Define and guide customers on business processes and policies
- Create Technical and Functional design documents
- Facilitate the population of the blueprint
- Consult with and advise customers on best practice, industry standards, and legislation compliance
- Solution-craft complex requirements
- Engage with IT regarding security-related requirements
Integration
- Liaise directly with customers' third-party vendors (payroll, master data, HR systems) for effective integration
- Facilitate integration testing
- Integrate WFM systems with customer systems using platforms such as Dell Boomi
Training & Delivery
- Conduct end-user training with client superusers
- Assist the Project Management department with project approach and planning
- Participate in and contribute to project post-mortem meetings
- Work alongside Project Manager to ensure successful project closure and handover
After-Sales Support
- Provide end-to-end system support to clients (on-site and remote)
- Attend to assigned service calls promptly for optimum resolution
- Use the UKG global support system to log and resolve complex product issues
- Provide Help Desk support
- Provide root cause analysis upon customer request
Continuous Learning & Collaboration
- Constantly learn about and understand the entire UKG integration product line
- Use the UKG Online Library and Product Forums for technical information and global insights
- Stay abreast of changes in UKG's day-to-day business
- Mentor and assist fellow WFM Integration Consultants
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Matric (Grade 12) – Essential; Tertiary IT qualification (Certificate/Diploma/Degree) – Advantageous
- Experience: 5–10 years' experience in system integration and networking
- UKG/WFM Experience: Extensive experience implementing or supporting enterprise WFM software applications, preferably UKG (Dimensions, Workforce Central, or Pro WFM)
- Integration Platforms: Dell Boomi integration experience – Essential
- Database & SQL: Microsoft operating systems and SQL database systems experience – Essential
- Technical Documentation: Experience preparing functional and technical solution design documents and configuring and delivering solutions to customers
- Client Engagement: Excellent customer relations skills and ability to manage specific tasks to completion with minimal direction
- Software Development: Software design lifecycle management experience
- Travel: Must be willing to travel locally and internationally to customer sites
- Driver's License: Must have own vehicle and valid driver's license
Preferred Skills & Experience
- WFM Specific: Time and Labour management system experience; UKG configuration experience; Workforce Dimensions experience
- Boomi Integration: Dell Boomi integration experience (UKG, HRIS, and 3rd party systems integration)
- Cloud Technology: Cloud Technology Experience (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Reporting: SQL Reporting Services; Business Intelligence reporting
- Scripting: Java Scripting
- Web Technologies: Experience in 3-tier web-based technology
- Database: Oracle database experience
- Microsoft Certifications: Microsoft certifications (Operational systems and database)
- Programming Languages: Experience with programming languages is advantageous
- Mobile & Browser: Knowledge of mobile technology and various browsers
