Are you skilled at navigating regulatory landscapes and building strong stakeholder relationships? Velocity Fibre is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Wayleave Officer to support the successful rollout of fibre infrastructure across South Africa.
About the Role:
As a Wayleave Officer, you will be responsible for securing the permissions and approvals required to deploy our fibre optic networks. You’ll engage with local authorities, landowners, and other stakeholders to ensure our projects progress smoothly and in compliance with relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Liaise with municipalities, property owners, and government departments to secure wayleave approvals.
Manage and track wayleave application processes from submission to approval.
Conduct site assessments and gather relevant technical documentation.
Negotiate access agreements and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with legal, environmental, and regulatory standards.
Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to align wayleave activities with project timelines.
What You’ll Bring:
Experience in wayleave coordination, property management, town planning, or infrastructure development.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Familiarity with local regulatory and municipal processes related to land access and utilities.
Ability to interpret site plans, maps, and technical drawings.
A proactive and solutions-focused approach to overcoming approval challenges.
Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills
