Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Worker / Local Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. This role is essential in ensuring efficient warehouse operations, accurate inventory management, and timely delivery of goods within the local area. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling materials, operating heavy equipment, and safely transporting products to meet customer expectations. Responsibilities
- Safely operate warehouse equipment including forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and cranes to load, unload, and move materials efficiently.
- Assist with inventory control by conducting regular stock counts, updating inventory management software, and ensuring accuracy in stock levels.
- Prepare orders through picking, packing, and labeling items according to specifications for shipping and delivery.
- Drive local routes to deliver products promptly while adhering to all safety regulations and traffic laws.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, deliveries, and inventory transactions using warehouse management systems such as AS400 or similar software.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow OSHA safety protocols during all tasks.
- Support warehouse operations by organizing storage areas, stocking shelves, and managing materials handling equipment.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize logistics processes and improve overall efficiency.
- Assist with shipping & receiving activities including verifying incoming shipments and preparing items for dispatch.
- Perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting while maintaining proper ergonomic practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution, order picking & packing, or related warehouse roles.
- Valid forklift license and experience operating material handling equipment such as reach trucks, pallet jacks, and cranes.
- Familiarity with inventory management software and warehouse management systems like AS400 or equivalent.
- Knowledge of safety regulations including OSHA standards and proper PPE use.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks efficiently.
- Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying quantities accurately.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory control and order fulfillment processes.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for local delivery routes.
- Experience operating heavy equipment operation tools is highly desirable.
- Technical proficiency in logistics software and warehouse operations is preferred.
