Job Title: Head – Warehouse & Outbound Logistics
Location: Kenya
Reporting To: Senior Leadership
Position Overview:
Bidco Africa is seeking an experienced Head of Warehouse and Outbound Logistics to lead and oversee its Finished Goods warehouse operations and outbound logistics for both domestic and export markets. This role is pivotal in ensuring efficient, secure, and world-class logistics practices within a large-scale manufacturing setup.
Note: This role is open to candidates of Indian origin, preferably Kenyan citizens or PR holders.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the entire Finished Goods Warehouse operations, from receipt of goods from production to dispatch from factory premises.
Plan and conduct Quarterly Inventory Audits for Finished Goods.
Drive digitization initiatives in the warehouse, dispatch Centre and outbound logistics for both domestic and export consignments.
Introduce and implement world-class practices in Warehouse and Dispatch Center management.
Evaluate and implement effective Fleet Management Systems.
Enforce robust security and audit systems to ensure zero pilferages.
Actively contribute to the Route-to-Market project, offering operational and strategic inputs.
Manage export logistics, including backend processes from order receipt to fulfillment and documentation.
Oversee re-work and bundling operations within the warehouse ensuring minimal product damage.
Plan manpower requirements effectively to minimize overtime and operational fatigue.
Monitor Market Returns daily, analyse causes, and implement corrective measures in coordination with Production and Back-office teams.
Ensure consistent upkeep and maintenance of the warehouse as per company standards.
Liaise daily with the Sales Back Office team to arrange transport in line with projected orders and ensure timely deliveries.
Monitor Weighbridge operations and conduct random checks to curb pilferages.
Work with Sales Back Office and Transporters to manage debit notes, damages, and policy enforcement.
Regularly engage with key transporters to identify operational challenges and initiate corrective measures.
Explore, evaluate, and onboard competitive and reliable transport service providers.
Implement measures to minimize damages and thefts during transit.
Train and sensitise the logistics team on safe handling and loading procedures to prevent product damages.
Candidate Requirements:
Nationality: Indian origin (Kenyan citizen or PR holder preferred)
Experience: 10-12 years of relevant experience in Warehouse & Outbound Logistics Management within a large manufacturing company setup.
Strong leadership, operational management, and vendor management skills.
Proven track record of implementing digital warehouse solutions and Fleet Management Systems.
Hands-on experience with export logistics operations, including documentation and compliance.
Excellent people management and inter-departmental coordination skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: R50Â 000,00 – R180Â 000,00 per month
