Requirements:
- Grade 12
- Diploma/Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Warehouse Management – advantageous
- Minimum 5–8 years’ warehouse experience
- At least 3 years in a supervisory or management role
- Proven experience in a frozen food or cold storage environment – essential
- Strong knowledge of cold chain management
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
- Valid drivers license and own transport
- Candidate must reside in the Port Elizabeth / Uitenhage area
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily warehouse activities including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch.
- Ensure optimal use of freezer space and efficient stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO principles).
- Maintain cold chain integrity at all times.
- Oversee stock control processes, including cycle counts and full stocktakes.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping using warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Ensure compliance with South African food safety standards (e.g., HACCP).
- Monitor and maintain required temperature ranges for frozen goods.
- Implement and enforce hygiene and sanitation standards.
- Supervise, train, and develop warehouse staff.
- Manage staff scheduling, performance, and discipline.
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and safe operation of equipment (e.g., forklifts in cold environments)
- Coordinate dispatch schedules to ensure timely deliveries.
- Liaise with transport providers and internal departments.
- Optimize workflows to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
