Location: Swellendam
Knowledge and Skills required for this role:
Ability to lead a team
Thorough understanding of finances and financial controls
Excellent knowledge of stock management
Qualification and Experience required:
Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Warehousing, Logistics or Finance essential
5 Years’ relevant working experience in an FMCG or similar environment with specific reference to managing teams
Computer literacy on MS Office packages with specific reference to Excel
Working knowledge of SAP would be advantageous
Thorough understanding of financial reporting and control procedures essential
Responsibilities:
Reporting, Systems and Processes
Responsible for reporting on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
Continuous review of relevant systems and ensure new implementation, where applicable.
Ensure food safety standards & housekeeping are always adhered to.
Ensure effective use of the Warehouse Management System
Monitor existing processes and procedures to ensure maximum utilization of resources
Ensure stock control processes are followed to minimize unauthorized removal of product/materials from the store or warehouse premises
Manage all warehousing procedures.
Ensure that relevant stock control systems are up to date and accurate.
Distribution, Planning and Operations
Execution of FEFO/FIFO
Responsible for inventory management
Manage Annual Financial Audits & regular stock takes
Manage stock issuing to production departments
Hygiene and housekeeping management
Vehicle loading management
Ensure equipment is effectively utilized and properly maintained.
Plan future capacity requirements
Manage annual procedure updates.
Responsible for the management of relevant warehouse associated costs
Health and safety
Ensure that store and warehouse standards are in compliance with national safety regulations
Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security in the work environment
Participate in safety forums and attend relevant training/programmes
Report all safety incidents to the relevant people
Comply with safety policies and procedures
Wear protective clothing (where applicable) at all times
Employee management and development:
Ensure overall compliance to relevant procedures and policies
Ensure that all team members have clearly defined job profiles
Regular goal reviews are completed to assess achievement of results
Support, coaching and mentoring is continuously provided to ensure that objectives are met
Appropriate allocation of resources to meet operational demands
Ensure adequate succession planning in order to meet ongoing and anticipated business requirements
