Your Role

Plans, organizes and monitors the following: dispatching, receiving and warehouse activities to ensure the most efficient utilization of employees and equipment.
guiding and supporting despatching and receiving activities to ensure achievement of the right product, in the right place, at the right time, at the right quantity level and at the lowest possible cost.
Promote proper storage and delivery of product by supervising activities of the warehouse personnel engaged in despatching of finished product from production to either the appropriate warehouse or the customer.
Ensure the accurate preparation of necessary documentation e.g. bill of lading, customer code numbers, labels, etc.
Apply knowledge pertaining to the chemical/physical characteristics of all inbound materials, to plan and direct all receiving, storage and transfer activities to maximise storage space utilization.
Ensure accurate receipt of goods through receiving, documenting and appropriate disposition of raw materials, packaging, supplies, etc.
Assist in maintaining accurate inventories of finished product and intermediates by conducting periodic cycle counts and stock counts and recording data/computer transactions in a timely manner.
Must be able to develop and implement corrective action for any inventory variances.
Develop an understanding of the dispatch, storage and handling requirements for all major product groups to plan and coordinate finished goods shipments.
This includes both intercompany shipments as well as customer shipments.
Ensure that FIFO policies are satisfied.
Utilize SAP inventory management system to ensure that all physical movement and usage of raw materials, packaging and finished goods are accurately documented and processed on the computerized system.
Promote customer service objectives by ensuring proper coordination between order entry, transportation, and warehouse schedules and activities to meet customer delivery dates and locations.
Plan for customer orders, pull appropriate reports and pick lists, and support all customer specifications.
Review the performance for On Time Delivery (OTIF) and document proper reason codes.
Review monthly inventory and value of stock for accuracy and submit invoices on a timely manner.
Develop annual budget of expenses and establish cost controls to manage expenses.
Track Warehouse performance/productivity and issue reports as requested.
Follow up and close out of complaints.
Ensure root cause and corrective actions on complaints are satisfactory to prevent further issues or reoccurrences.

About You

Education (School) • Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics or Warehouse Management University/College/ Professional training • Warehouse Management • Incoterms Experience (No. years)  4-5 years of experience with shipping and receiving in manufacturing, distribution or continuous processing environment.  1-2 years’ experience in chemicals and or food and beverages industry Specialist requirements (e.g. product and technical processing knowledge, business management expertise foreign languages, e.g. English, French, Spanish, other skills, e.g. PC familiarity and usage) • Experience with or ability to learn an automated inventory management system. • Experience in direct people management • Experience in budget setting and budget managing • Knowledge of Warehouse procedures in a food or chemical environment • Knowledge of transportation (types, carriers, rules, Incoterms). • Proficient SAP skills across Warehouse Management function. Important personal requirements (e.g. conceptual and strategic abilities, proven leadership skills, ability to cope under pressure) • Effective communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written) • Excellent planning skills • Ability to operate in a warehouse environment and storage facility 100% of the time. • Environmental conditions include exposure to chemicals, hand and mechanical tools and machinery. • Ability to work independently. • Ability to multi-task and prioritize. • Ability to handle high-pressure situations. • Ability to manage diverse stakeholders in a multi-functional environment. • Comfortable with details.
