Position Purpose / Objective
The Warehouse Controller is responsible for developing and establishing best practice policies, written standards, operating procedures and techniques, for all aspects of Warehouse Control that ensures good inventory control practices.
Duties and Responsibilities
To manage all on-site third-party service providers to the Astec standard.
Making sure the warehouse is kept in a clean and safe manner, compliant with 5S.
Measure and Managing inventory variances, and driving variance improvements, and report on it.
Regular and timeous communication to Management.
Manage activities and performance of the Cycle Count Team members.
Assist with the preparation for and taking of physical inventories and all facets of the reconciliation and physical inventories in all distribution centers, stores and manufacturing locations.
Establish, measure and monitor Warehouse KPI’s and SLA’s for the business.
Work closely with all departments to improve inventory efficiencies and productivity.
Support communication between Team Members and Head of Supply Chain.
Manage Materials Movement within all warehouses and inside the factory (WIP).
Manage logistics function and ensure all dispatched items and/or equipment complies with all regulations and packaging specification.
Proactive risk identification and mitigation.
Work closely with Sales team to ensure required parts and / or shipments are done timeously and effectively.
Identify shortages of items to be picked for production and sales, Liaise with Head of Supply Chain to ensure identified items are delivered.
Conduct employee requirement planning for afterhours/weekends/public holidays deliveries and dispatch to fulfill business requirements.
Develop warehouse SOP and Warehouse Policy.
Maintain the WIP Stock management process to provide visibility, control and accuracy of information contained in the system.
Enforce Compliance to a Work-to-do list for all equipment being manufactured.
Provide link between Operations, Warehousing, Logistics and Purchasing.
Enforce the automated stock management process to eliminate all risks associated with inventory management.
Ensuring Compliance to QMS standards.

Minimum Requirements
Diploma in Supply Chain / Warehouse Management or equivalent.
At least 5 years’ experience in inventory control management.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in same or similar role.
Manufacturing and/or Engineering industry experience preferable.
Proven leadership experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop team members.
Detail oriented planning and presentation skills.
Attention to detail.
MS office proficiency.
ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics AX experience will be advantageous).
Ability to actively participate in cross-functional initiatives, understand differences of opinion and effectively promote resolution.
