Job Opening: Warehouse Assistant / Truck Driver / Bus Driver
Location: Opportunity Workshop, Inc.
Employment Type: Full-Time (Monday–Thursday) 7:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
Position Summary
Opportunity Workshop, Inc. is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and safety-minded individual to join our team as a Warehouse Assistant / Truck Driver / Bus Driver. This versatile position is ideal for someone who enjoys a variety of responsibilities, works well as part of a team, and takes pride in helping others. The candidate will assist with warehouse operations, perform minor building and grounds maintenance, transport materials and products, and safely transport individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities on a daily basis.
Primary ResponsibilitiesWarehouse Duties
- Receive, unload, organize, and store incoming inventory.
- Prepare and stage outgoing orders and deliveries.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock organization.
- Operate forklifts and pallet jacks (training provided if needed).
- Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
Truck Driving Duties
- CDL will be required (training will be provided if necessary).
- Safely operate company truck to transport materials and products.
- Inspect vehicles before and after each trip.
- Secure loads and ensure safe transportation.
- Deliver and pick up products according to scheduled routes.
- Complete delivery documentation accurately.
Bus Driving Duties
- Safely transport individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities to and from designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Follow all traffic laws and company safety procedures.
- Maintain a courteous and professional attitude with passengers.
- Assist passengers as needed while ensuring their safety and comfort.
Building & Grounds Maintenance Duties
- Perform minor building and facility maintenance, including basic repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Replace light bulbs, air filters, and ceiling tiles as needed.
- Assist with painting, touch-up work, and minor carpentry projects.
- Perform basic plumbing and maintenance repairs that do not require a licensed contractor.
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the building, warehouse, parking lots, and grounds.
- Assist with snow removal, salting walkways, and other seasonal outdoor maintenance.
- Set up and move furniture or equipment for meetings, events, and work areas.
- Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely and in accordance with company policies.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) preferred or willingness to obtain one.
- Ability to pass required background checks and drug screening.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Forklift experience is a plus but not required, will be required to obtain forklift certification performed by OWI if needed.
Preferred Skills
- Warehouse or inventory experience.
- Delivery or commercial driving experience.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus.
- Basic mechanical and maintenance knowledge is helpful.

Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the workday.
- Ability to safely enter and exit commercial vehicles multiple times daily.
- Ability to perform light maintenance tasks both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
