Galencia Property is looking for a reliable, organised, and detail-oriented Warehouse Assistant to join our operations team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing warehouse inventory, controlling stock movements, coordinating material deliveries, and ensuring efficient warehouse operations that support our construction and maintenance teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile and coordinate weekly material procurement requests.
- Verify stock availability before submitting purchase requests.
- Receive and inspect deliveries against approved purchase orders and proof of delivery documentation.
- Report quantity discrepancies or incorrect deliveries to Procurement immediately.
- Accurately capture all incoming and outgoing stock on inventory spreadsheets.
- Maintain FIFO (First-In, First-Out) stock rotation.
- Prepare material requests for daily site dispatches.
- Issue materials only to authorised personnel and maintain accurate issue records.
- Conduct regular stock counts and inventory reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate inventory, stock movement, and material tracking records.
- Ensure all warehouse areas remain clean, organised, secure, and properly labelled.
- Safeguard warehouse keys and implement sound stock control practices.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly warehouse reports.
- Assist in identifying and implementing measures to reduce stock losses and improve warehouse efficiency.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Previous experience as a Warehouse Assistant, Storeman, Stock Controller, or similar warehouse role.
- Experience working with construction materials, maintenance supplies, or hardware stock will be advantageous.
- Strong stock control and inventory management skills.
- Good numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and stock recording systems.
- Ability to reconcile stock and maintain accurate records.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Honest, reliable, and committed to maintaining high levels of accountability.
