Role Summary
To provide excellent customer service by taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring a positive dining experience for guests.
Position: Waiters
Location: Magna The One, 16 Dennesig Street, Stellenbosch
Employment Start Date: Immediately
Working Hours: 45 hours per week (Specified by the shift roster)
Days Off: Two days per week
Key Responsibilities
Guest Service
Greet guests promptly upon arrival and provide a warm, welcoming experience.
Take accurate food and beverage orders, offering menu recommendations and upselling when appropriate.
Serve food and drinks to guests in a timely and professional manner.
Check on guests regularly to ensure satisfaction and address any questions or concerns.
Handle guest complaints or issues with a positive attitude and seek assistance from management when necessary.
Order Management
Enter orders into the POS system accurately and efficiently.
Communicate special requests and dietary requirements to the kitchen staff.
Ensure that orders are delivered to guests correctly and in a timely manner
Table Maintenance
Set up tables for bookings with appropriate utensils, napkins, and condiments.
Clear tables and reset them promptly for the next guests.
Keep the dining area clean and tidy throughout the shift.
Knowledge and Compliance
Maintain in-depth knowledge of the menu, including ingredients and preparation methods.
Stay informed about daily specials, promotions, and events in the restaurant.
Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including food handling and sanitation standards.
Team Collaboration
Work closely with kitchen and FOH staff to ensure smooth service and a cohesive dining experience.
Assist colleagues as needed, including running food, clearing tables, or restocking supplies.
Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay updated on restaurant operations and policies.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Previous experience as a waiter or in a customer service role is preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Positive attitude, professionalism, and attention to detail.
Ability to stand for long periods and carry trays of food and beverages.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to R28,79 per hour
Expected hours: 45 per week
