We’re expanding our technical support team in Cape Town to include a dedicated VoIP Support Engineer to assist UK clients with voice platform troubleshooting and administration. This is a hands-on, client-facing role that requires both technical experience and a professional communication style.

Role Overview – VoIP Support

As a Voice Support Engineer, you’ll handle inbound queries related to VoIP systems, call routing, user issues, and platform management. Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing support tickets and phone/email queries.

• Troubleshooting and resolving voice-related issues on platforms like 8×8, Ring Central, LGIPECs, Gamma, or similar.

• Ensuring continuity of service for users after faults are resolved.

• Managing tasks involving number porting, SIP configuration, and client account management.

• Collaborating with the wider service desk and escalating complex faults when necessary.

✅ Minimum Requirements

• 1+ years’ experience in a VoIP/telephony support environment.

• Familiarity with VoIP platforms such as 8×8, Ring Central, Gamma, or equivalent.

• Ability to troubleshoot SIP issues, call flow problems, and endpoint connectivity.

• Strong customer communication skills – verbal and written (English).

• Experience using ticketing systems and documenting resolutions thoroughly.

• Basic understanding of networking concepts like LAN/WAN and firewalls.

Additional Beneficial Experience (Not Required, but a Plus)

• Understanding of number porting processes and troubleshooting port failures.

• Familiarity with NGN/inbound call platforms.

• Exposure to cloud-hosted telephony or hybrid PBX environments.

• Prior experience working with international clients or supporting remote offices.
