Can you take over a book of VIP players and know, within days, who matters most and who is quietly on their way out?
Do you know the difference between a VIP who wants a bigger bonus and one who just wants a faster payout? Between a player who wants a call and one who wants to be left alone?

You know this job if you’ve lived it.
You’ve talked a fuming player down after a brutal night, and by the end of the call they were thanking you. You’ve checked the score before you dialled, because you knew their team lost on Saturday. You’ve sent the birthday message that wasn’t a template, and got a voice note back. You’ve sorted a withdrawal at 22:00 on a Friday, and nobody ever knew but the player. You’ve watched a R200 gesture, perfectly timed, do what a R2,000 bonus couldn’t. You’ve called a big winner just to say congratulations and meant every word. Your best players ask for you by name. A few have your number saved, not the brand’s. Nobody put any of that in a KPI. You did it anyway.
That’s the host we’re hiring.
Tsogo Sun Digital, the online betting and iGaming arm of the Tsogo group, is looking for a VIP Host to look after playTSOGO’s most valuable players. Personally. Properly. End to end. VIP here is not a send list with better prizes. It’s one host, one book, and the sharpest retention lever in the company.
Maybe you’ve done all of that with a casino floor behind you. Maybe armed with nothing but a bonus code and your own word. Here, you get both worlds. Most betting sites are just a website. Ours has front doors: Montecasino. Gold Reef City. Suncoast. Hotels, theatres, restaurants, hospitality, with Tsogo Rewards running through it all. When your best player deserves more than a bonus, you reach for a box at the big match, a night at the casino, dinner before the show. Almost nobody in this market gets both.
The job is digital first: the phone, the messages, the data. The book is real and it’s already here. What it’s never had is a host of its own. That’s you. The programme around the book is still young, so what you learn from your players will shape the tiers, the offers and the experiences we build. New role, growing book: it gets bigger as you make it work.

Examples of what you’ll work on
- Being the personal host and single point of contact for our top players across casino and sport
- Knowing the book player by player: history, preferences, patterns, what each relationship needs
- Running proactive contact plans, personalised offers and recognition moments that never feel automated
- Spotting rising stars, drifting VIPs and lapsed high-value players with BI, and acting on them
- Hosting players in the real world: meet and greets, casino events, hospitality, hotel stays, shows
- Fixing problems fast: bonuses, payments, account queries, whatever your player needs sorted
- Managing comp spend within the reinvestment model and recording the ROI to prove it works
- Delivering against clear revenue, retention and activity targets for your book
- Feeding ideas and player insight into how we shape and grow the programme
What we’re looking for
- 2-6 years looking after VIPs or high-value customers, in iGaming, betting, casino or premium guest relations
- A genuine host: warm, discreet, energetic, sharp judgement with demanding customers
- Coachable and hungry to keep getting better; nobody’s the finished article at this craft
- Excellent on the phone and in writing; that is where this relationship lives
- Commercially aware and data-curious: you know your book’s numbers cold
- Disciplined on CRM, admin and confidentiality
- Mature on responsible gambling; it matters most at the top end
- Able to meet key employee licensing requirements with the provincial gambling boards, and comfortable with FICA and POPIA obligations
- Available evenings, weekends, events and the odd property trip, because that is when and where VIPs play
- Bonus points: online plus land-based experience, Playtech, additional South African languages, Mandarin or Cantonese
