Position Overview
We are seeking a Video Editor who can handle all facets of post-production while also mentoring interns. This role will require you to work closely with local and remote teams (including in Malaysia) to ensure seamless project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Video Editing & Post-Production
Edit raw footage into compelling final videos for various platforms (e.g., social media, websites, promotional materials).
Perform color correction, sound editing, and motion graphics enhancements as needed.
Maintain consistent brand and visual standards across all outputs.
Intern Management
Oversee a small team of interns, providing guidance, training, and feedback on post-production tasks.
Assign projects, manage workloads, and track progress to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.
Facilitate interns’ professional development by coaching them on video editing best practices and industry tools.
Remote Collaboration
Coordinate with remote team members and freelance editors, particularly in Malaysia, to align on project goals and deadlines.
Conduct regular video or voice calls to discuss project updates and resolve any technical or creative issues promptly.
Project Coordination & Communication
Work closely with producers, directors, and other creative personnel to understand project requirements and deliver on creative vision.
Manage project timelines, ensuring efficient workflow and meeting key milestones.
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to provide status updates and address feedback.
Technical Expertise & Tool Proficiency
Demonstrate proficiency in industry-standard video editing tools (Davinci Resolve Studio in particular).
Stay up-to-date on the latest editing techniques, software updates, and post-production technologies.
Troubleshoot technical issues to maintain a smooth and efficient editing pipeline.
Quality Control & File Management
Ensure all deliverables meet specified standards for quality, branding, and client guidelines.
Maintain an organized file management system for easy retrieval and archival of projects.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience:
Diploma/Degree in Film, Media Production, Animation, or related field (or equivalent experience).
2+ years of video editing experience (school work or external).
Technical
Skills:
Strong command of video editing software such as Davinci Resolve Studio
Familiarity with color grading, audio mixing, and motion graphics.
Soft
Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills—capable of guiding and mentoring interns effectively.
Strong time management and organizational abilities, particularly for juggling multiple projects and timelines.
Comfortable with remote work tools (e.g., Slack, Zoom, Trello) to coordinate across distributed teams.
