Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Class A CDL Truck Driver to serve our facility. In this role, you will handle local material drop-offs and pick-ups while managing container and trailer movements in our shipping and receiving yard. Key Responsibilities
- Move containers and trailers around the local area and within the shipping/receiving yard.
- Perform local pick-ups and drop-offs of materials using various fleet vehicles, including company pickup trucks, one-ton dump trucks, and standard rigs.
- Operate a forklift safely for loading/unloading (training and certification provided).
- Inspect vehicles daily for mechanical items, safety issues, and preventive maintenance.
- Document and log work/rest periods, miles driven, and retain all fuel and toll receipts.
- Comply strictly with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, break periods) as well as internal company policies.
- Maneuver trucks into tight loading or unloading positions safely.
- Promptly report any defects, accidents, or regulatory violations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience working as a Class A CDL Truck Driver.
- Extensive knowledge of applicable commercial driving rules and regulations.
- Clean driving record with no recent moving or driving violations.
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (weather conditions, local traffic, etc.).
- Forklift certification is a bonus (we will train and certify the right candidate).
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL.
- Valid CDL health exam (DOT Medical Card).
- Must pass a comprehensive background check.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
