Job Function

Responsible for treasury related functions pertaining to Imperial’s subsidiaries that form part of the Logistics Africa business. In addition, the successful candidate will assist the Group Treasurer with additional responsibilities for the Imperial Logistics Group.

Key Performance Areas:

Coordinating activities to achieve the most efficient funding structure, optimal funding rates, efficient cash management and competitive foreign exchange rates.

Monitoring of the active hedging program in accordance with group policy for all of Imperial’s subsidiaries as part of Logistics Africa.

Implementation of ALCO guidelines regarding execution of short- & long-term debt, fixed & floating rate debt for the logistics divisions.

Monitoring and assisting with reducing foreign currency exposure & unproductive cash, as well as managing interest rate and counter party risk.

Managing the issuance of approved Guarantees, Letters of Comfort and South African Reserve Bank (SARB) applications where required.

Calculating and arranging for the invoicing of internal guaranteed fees for all African subsidiaries and following up on arrears.

Assisting with the negotiating of current or new banking facilities/Long Term loan agreements and making recommendations to the Group Treasurer. Maintain contact with RMs of banks in SA as well as maintaining contact with applicable international banks.

Assist with the monthly reporting of the Group’s Bank Facilities and Weighted Average Cost of debt.

Assist with maintaining Bank Facility registers and Bank account details for Subsidiaries.

Have the necessary knowledge of various banking products & services.

Negotiating pricing as well as executing applicable cross currency swaps, interest rate swaps, foreign exchange contracts etc.

Monthly Logistics ALCO – Preparation of the Logistics ALCO pack which includes taking the minutes of the meeting, providing a detailed breakdown of all foreign exchange exposure (Trade, Loans & Leases), cash resources & bank facilities, monitoring of all intercompany loans, monitoring of foreign currency reserves per country as well as coordinating all action points from previous meetings and new proposals with the various Finance Executives.

Quarterly Group ALCO – Providing certain Group ALCO reports such as providing feedback of related activities, reporting of Group facilities, Group liquidity and Weighted Average Cost of Debt.

Developing and maintaining a comprehensive Treasury policy and procedure manual for Logistics.

Providing best practice treasury services to the logistics’ businesses as well as ensuring the integration and implementation of the current Group Treasury Policy.

Implementation and maintenance of robust controls for treasury matters relating to Logistics.

Establishment and ongoing development of relationships with Group Finance, Tax, Legal and other central departments.

Necessarycommunication skillsto interface with all senior executives of African Group companies as well as strategic banking partners.

Qualifications Required:

Honours Degree (NQF Level
8)

Experience and Skills Required:

Up to 8 years of experience in a similar environment, with at least 5 years operationalleadership/specialist experience.
