Role Description
SAGTRAV is looking for a customer-focused and detail-driven Travel Specialist / Travel Consultant to join our growing team on a full-time hybrid basis.
This role is ideal for someone who understands travel planning, enjoys working with people, and can manage client enquiries, quotes, bookings and communication with accuracy and professionalism.
The successful candidate will assist with leisure travel, corporate travel, group travel, flights, accommodation, cruises, transfers, car hire, travel documentation guidance and urgent travel requests.
Most work will be handled online through WhatsApp, email, calls, VoIP systems and booking platforms. Occasional in-person meetings, training sessions or client consultations may be required.
This is not only an administrative role. It requires confidence, attention to detail, strong communication skills and the ability to guide clients clearly through the travel planning process.
Key Responsibilities
Manage client travel enquiries through WhatsApp, email, phone calls and online platforms.
Prepare travel quotes, options and recommendations based on client needs, dates, budget, destination preferences and travel priorities.
Assist with flight bookings, accommodation, cruises, transfers, car hire and travel packages.
Support leisure, corporate, family, group and urgent travel arrangements.
Assist with H2A/H2B travel support and practical travel documentation guidance where required.
Help clients understand travel options, timelines, requirements, booking conditions and payment deadlines.
Create and manage clear travel itineraries, booking records and travel documentation.
Liaise with airlines, hotels, cruise providers, suppliers and travel partners where needed.
Maintain accurate client records, booking details and communication history.
Provide calm, practical support when travel plans change or urgent assistance is required.
Follow up with clients professionally and keep communication clear throughout the booking process.
Represent SAGTRAV in a professional, warm and service-focused manner.
Support SAGTRAV’s standard of clear planning, honest guidance, real support and excellent client care.
Hybrid Work Requirements
This is a full-time hybrid role, meaning the successful candidate will work remotely most of the time, with occasional in-person meetings, training sessions or client consultations when required.
The candidate should ideally be based in Gauteng or within reasonable travelling distance for occasional in-person requirements.
SAGTRAV will provide the required laptop and VoIP telephone system for work purposes.

Qualifications and Experience
Experience in travel arrangements, travel consulting, tourism, hospitality or customer service.
Knowledge of flights, accommodation, cruises, transfers, car hire, travel packages or corporate travel is highly beneficial.
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain travel options clearly and professionally.
Excellent customer service skills with a warm, helpful and patient approach.
Strong attention to detail when handling names, dates, passport details, documents, quotes, booking conditions and itineraries.
Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple enquiries at the same time.
Ability to work under pressure, especially with urgent travel requests, last-minute changes or time-sensitive bookings.
Comfortable using email, spreadsheets, WhatsApp, VoIP systems, online platforms and supplier portals.
Experience with travel booking systems, supplier portals or GDS platforms is an advantage.
Tourism, hospitality or travel-related qualifications are an advantage, but not essential if the candidate has strong practical experience and the right attitude.
