Job Mission / Objective
The Trade Finance Specialist will be responsible for managing and executing trade finance transactions, ensuring the efficient processing of trade finance products and services. This role involves coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and the delivery of high-quality service to clients.
Main Responsibilities
Transaction Processing
Process and manage trade finance transactions, including letters of credit, guarantees, documentary collections, and supply chain finance.
Ensure timely and accurate processing of trade finance documents and transactions.
Compliance and Risk Management
Ensure all trade finance transactions comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Identify and mitigate risks associated with trade finance operations.
Conduct due diligence and compliance checks on trade finance transactions.
Client Support
Provide exceptional support to clients regarding trade finance products and services.
Resolve client inquiries and issues promptly and professionally.
Assist clients with the preparation and submission of trade finance documentation.
Coordination and Communication
Coordinate with internal teams, including relationship managers, credit, and risk management, to ensure seamless transaction processing.
Communicate effectively with external stakeholders, including clients, correspondent banks, and regulatory authorities.
Documentation and Record Keeping
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all trade finance transactions.
Ensure proper documentation and filing of trade finance documents.
Process Improvement
Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.
Implement best practices and standard operating procedures for trade finance operations.
Reporting and Analysis
Prepare and present regular reports on trade finance operations, including transaction volumes, processing times, and compliance metrics.
Analyze operational data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Training and Development
Provide training and support to junior team members on trade finance processes and best practices.
Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and new trade finance products and services.
Requirements
Academic Knowledge:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
Work Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in trade finance operations or a similar role within the banking industry.
In-depth knowledge of trade finance products, services, and regulatory requirements.
Strong understanding of international trade practices and documentation.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in processing transactions.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in using trade finance software and banking systems.
