Role Overview
We are looking for a proactive Project Manager with a minimum of 3 years of proven experience to manage end-to-end project delivery. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. Your primary focus will be on POTN related initiatives, ensuring network resilience and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning: Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
- POTN Execution: Manage all technical aspects of Power and Telecommunications/Transport network projects, including fiber optics, microwave links, and associated power infrastructure.
- Site Management: Coordinate site surveys, construction, installation, and commissioning activities across the Johannesburg region and surrounding areas.
- Stakeholder Management: Liaise with clients, contractors, local municipalities, and utility providers to secure wayleaves and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Risk Management: Identify potential project risks (technical, environmental, or logistical) and implement mitigation strategies.
- Budgeting & Cost Control: Track project costs, manage procurement of materials, and ensure financial objectives are met.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all project activities adhere to industry standards, safety regulations, and company quality policies (OHS Act compliance).
- Reporting: Provide regular project status updates to management, highlighting milestones, delays, and resource requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of project management experience.
- Industry Knowledge: Demonstrable experience working on POTN or similar infrastructure projects
- Valid South African driver’s license and own reliable vehicle (willingness to travel to sites).
- Experience working with major South African telecom operators or power utilities.
