Assembly & Wiring TechnicianPosition Summary
The Assembly & Wiring Technician is responsible for assembling, wiring, testing, and inspecting electrical and mechanical components and equipment. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to read drawings and wiring diagrams, and a commitment to producing safe, reliable, and high-quality work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assemble electrical and mechanical components according to drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
- Install, route, terminate, and label electrical wiring and cables.
- Soldering skills
- Possible PWB/CCA experience.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and bills of materials.
- Use hand tools, power tools, crimpers, wire strippers, meters, and other assembly equipment.
- Perform continuity checks and basic electrical testing to verify proper wiring and connections.
- Inspect completed assemblies for workmanship, accuracy, and compliance with specifications.
- Identify wiring or assembly problems and make appropriate corrections.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow established safety procedures and quality standards.
- Document completed work and report problems or discrepancies to supervisors.
- Work with other technicians, engineers, and production personnel as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous assembly, electrical, wiring, manufacturing, or mechanical experience is helpful but not required.
- Ability to read basic electrical diagrams and technical drawings.
- Good hand-eye coordination and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to use common hand and power tools safely.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions.
- Basic understanding of electrical wiring and components preferred.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and a positive work attitude.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and work with hands for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move materials and components as required.
- Ability to perform detailed work requiring visual and manual precision.
Work Environment
This position is performed in a manufacturing/production environment. The technician is expected to follow all company safety, quality, and production procedures while maintaining a professional and organized work area.
Pay: $21.00 – $40.00 per hour
