ABOUT THE ROLE
Job Title: Technical Supervisor/Planner (Underground Mining)
Job Purpose
The Technical Supervisor/Planner provides technical and safety support to site personnel and liaises with senior personnel within client companies, maintaining a high level of participation in the safe running of on-site operations.
The candidate will be required to operate work tasks and responsibilities in Underground Mining Operations at the Rustenburg – Bathopele Mine site.
Responsibilities:
Liaise with tyre suppliers regarding tyre supply and manufacturer warranties.
Make recommendations to Project Engineers on factors affecting tyre performance and costs.
Ensure that the contract scope of work is performed to a high quality of service.
Maintain, file, and archive quality documents according to OMS procedures.
Implement and maintain technical standards on sites where appropriate.
Audit sites for compliance with OMS.
Identify and report any quality-related complaints or deficiencies.
Provide technical specifications and feedback to ensure workshop equipment meets safety requirements.
Conduct tool and equipment audits, technical training, prepare pit reports, and monitor equipment calibrations.
Prepare technical reports and site severity reports as required.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
Grade 12 National Senior Certificate.
Bachelor of Engineering degree (preferred).
Certificate in Earthmover Tyre Fitting and Stripping (preferred).
Certificate in Risk Management (preferred).
Experience:
Minimum of 4 years Off the Road (OTR) earthmoving experience.
Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience (preferred).
Broad base workplace safety experience – NOSA certificate accepted only.
Experience in an Underground Mine and its operations is essential.
Skills:
Valid Driver’s License.
Computer Literacy (MS Office Suite).
Sound technical tyre knowledge.
Exceptional communication skills.
