An international company that exports steel to South Africa is looking for a sales rep based in Johannesburg who will manage existing as well as develop new relationships with customers in South Africa
Description of the function in terms of the most important duties being done daily/weekly:
Expand the customer base for steel products by generating new business opportunities, acquiring new accounts, negotiating and closing deals
Analyse and share information related to the market, competition, pricing, and all other developments within the steel sector
Follow up with the customers for payments as per the agreed terms, and coordinating with Purchase/Logistics teams to ensure timely shipments
Travel extensively within the Wits area and occasionally countrywide
Characteristics of the ideal candidate:
Experience and Requirements as follows:
Must have at least 5 years’ experience in generating sales in flat (HRC, GI, GL, PPGI, PPGL, Vastrap etc) and long (Angles, Channels, Flat Bar, IPEs) steel products
Must be very familiar and have a working knowledge of all importation procedures as well as all documentation, including custom’s entries, BLs etc.
Must have own vehicle to make sales calls
Must have good Excel skills
CTC: R 55 000 per month
