About the Tech Driven Accountant position
We are looking for an IT savvy Accountant to join our team and help us with enhancing our financial systems, supervising, tracking and evaluation of company daily activities. Your duties will include maintaining company’s financial status by creating and implementing collection, analytics, verification and reporting practices. We also expect you to collaborate with company’s financial department.
Tech Driven Accountant job responsibilities are:
Accounting Function
Process Bank Statements, supplier and customer bills, fixed assets and any other accounting responsibilities.
Manage cash flow.
Reviewing other team members’ work.
Compilation of Management Reports.
Preparation for Annual Financial Statements to be compiled by an outsourced provider.
Preparation of working papers for independent review engagements under limited supervision.
Annual accounting performed and reviewed on a monthly basis, to ensure that the balance sheet and income statement are accurate and ready for the compilation of financial statements.
Assistance with payroll tasks, including but not limited to, payroll processing & reconciliations, EMP
201, EMP
501 and COIDA / WCA submissions.
Engaging with clients to build relationships and assisting with their needs.
Budget preparation, monitoring and reporting.
Systems (SaaS) Management and optimization
Manage current systems from a billing, billing automation and financial perspective
Xero
WHMCS
HaloPSA
Optimize the use of current systems to better leverage the available functionality.
Implement new systems where there is a beneficial ROI.
Training
Provide on the job training and mentorship for other accounts team members.
Presenting and training to the broader team.
Planning and Administration
Preparation of agenda for monthly management meetings with the CEO.
Ensure timeous submission of Timesheets before COB on Fridays with relevant departments
Ensure that all projects assigned to your portfolio are rolled out, and that all tasks are signed off as they are due.
Review client profitability across all service lines.
Identify opportunities for improvement in the financial department as well as general business operations.
Accounting Manager requirements are:
5+ years’ experience of working in an Accounting role with 2+ years’ experience as an Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor, Finance Manager or similar position.
Solid experience with bookkeeping and accounting practices.
Excellent knowledge of applicable standards and legal regulations.
Good understanding of MS Office, accounting software and data.
Experience in processing large amounts of data.
Strong team management skills, accuracy and close attention to detail.
University Degree in Accounting or Finance.
