TEAM LEADER (PRE-LAB)

EUGENE MARAIS LABORATORY, PRETORIA

PathCare Vermaak is a partnership of pathologists in private practice which assists doctors and healthcare professionals to determine
and confirm diagnoses. The company is registered with the HPCSA (Health Professions Council of South Africa) and all our laboratories
are SANAS accredited.

An opportunity exists for a Team Leader to join the team in the Pre-Lab department at our Eugene Marais Laboratory in Pretoria. We
are seeking an individual with a proven track record of leadership ability including motivating and influencing staff with a high level of
ethics and integrity while aligning with the PathCare values.

Registered with the HPCSA as a qualified Laboratory Assistant
Advanced Skylims knowledge – PathCare Vermaak Database.
Must have at least 5 years customer service experience
5 years’ experience as a Laboratory Assistant post HPCSA

registration

A proven track record of handling and resolving challenging
telephonic/email queries
Extensive Experience with handling difficult clients
Extensive experience/knowledge of the PathCare Vermaak

database

Extensive knowledge of on-site and extended lab protocols (send-
away testing)
A proven track record of leadership experience which includes team
building and conflict management
Relevant training experience
Extensive knowledge/understanding of the Help desk function

Key Responsibilities
• Manage quality and quantity outputs of direct reports and monitors, analyses and comments on staff development.

Manage, motivate and engage direct reports while maintaining day-to-day HR management administration.
Manage rostering for all departments and leave approvals.
Identify training needs, ensuring efficient and adequate training is given.
Review processes, identifies risk areas and recommends improvements.
Formulate, develop and implement policies and procedures that maintain and improve pre-lab functions.
Investigate, recommend and implement initiatives to improve operational efficiencies.
