Our client, based in Paarden Eiland (Cape Town), is a significantly expanding tax, accounting and auditing practice looking to employ a bright and independent Tax Compliance Officer. The ideal individual should be meticulous with administration and be open to learn and grow within a vibrant, qualified team.
The ideal candidate is driven by self-motivation, possesses exceptional attention to detail, thrives on meeting deadlines, and excels in interpersonal and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a portfolio of +-300 tax clients
Complete income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts and exempt entities
Handle SARS appointments, tax structuring and compliance
Prepare and submit dividends tax returns
Review and object to incorrect tax assessments
Manage SARS dispute resolution, provisional tax and clearances
Address client and SARS queries
All other tasks related to this role
Essential qualifications, skills, and experience:
Graduate or Post-Graduate Tax or Accounting qualification;
Registered Tax Practitioner or prepared to become a Tax Practitioner with SARS and a recognised controlling body;
Working knowledge of SARS e-filing website;
Working knowledge of tax software (Greatsoft would be an advantage);
3-4 years’ experience in managing a portfolio of tax clients (individuals, companies and trusts);
Strong computer skills (MS Office);
Valid drivers license and own reliable transport.
