Purpose of the Job

The Talent Management Lead is responsible for leading and managing the execution of the end-to-end talent value chain activities, ensuring a seamless, consistent, and engaging talent experience throughout the employee lifecycle. This role drives the implementation of talent management strategies, programmes, and practices that attract, develop, engage, retain, and optimise talent in alignment with the organisation’s strategic objectives and desired culture. Working in close partnership with business leaders and HR stakeholders, the Talent Management Lead ensures that talent initiatives support organisational capability, leadership effectiveness, workforce sustainability, and high performance, while embedding Zeda Group’s values and fostering a culture that enables employees and the business to thrive.

Talent Experience and Culture

  • Lead the execution and continuous improvement of the end-to-end talent value chain (EX), including talent acquisition, onboarding, talent management, succession planning, leadership development, learning and development, employee engagement, performance management, and retention.
  • Translate organisational strategy into integrated talent solutions that build organisational capability and support business growth.
  • Develop and implement talent engagement strategies aligned to the desired organisational culture.
  • Drive the implementation of talent management frameworks, policies, processes, and governance standards across the Group in alignment with the EX and desired culture and employer branding.
  • Analyse relevant data and formulate recommendations to enable decision-making on the appointment and engagement of talent
  • Conduct ongoing research and trend analysis on talent management and culture practices
  • Monitor and enhance the employee experience across key talent touchpoints, ensuring alignment with the desired organisational culture and employee value proposition.

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

  • Identify, build relationships with, and manage recruiting service providers and agencies
  • Build robust pipelines of diverse and high-quality candidates for key strategic roles
  • Support recruitment and workforce planning initiatives.
  • Build talent pipelines for critical and future roles.
  • Support the improvement of recruitment effectiveness, candidate experience and quality of hire.
  • Ensure workforce plans are translated into practical actions and measurable outcomes.
  • Analyse workforce needs and advise on strategies to address them
  • Lead employer branding initiatives to attract top talent
  • Support with development and implementation of innovative sourcing strategies using various platforms, including social media and professional networks

Performance & Organisational Effectiveness

  • Drive performance and potential management processes to enable a high-performance culture and support employee development.
  • Lead the performance management process across the organization.
  • Support managers in driving accountability and performance excellence.
  • Identify opportunities to improve organisational effectiveness and workforce productivity.

Talent Engagement and Management

  • Facilitate talent reviews, succession planning processes, and leadership pipeline development initiatives to strengthen organisational bench strength.
  • Support the delivery of learning, leadership, and career development programmes that support employee growth and organisational performance.
  • Partner with business leaders to identify talent risks, critical roles, capability gaps, and development priorities, and implement appropriate interventions.
  • Collaborate with HC and business leaders to forecast future talent needs and build succession plans
  • Manage talent-related projects and change initiatives to ensure successful implementation and adoption across the organisation

Stakeholder Management

  • Engage with senior management to understand the strategy that will inform talent acquisition needs and create a talent pipeline
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of talent strategies and programmes.
  • Communicate with Executives and Senior Management on talent management requirements.

Data and Reporting

  • Analyse talent-related data, metrics, and trends to provide insights and recommendations that inform strategic decision-making.
  • Use data-driven approaches to inform talent acquisition strategies and decisions
  • Maintain accurate records of recruitment activities in Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
  • Analyze recruitment data to identify areas for improvement and inform strategic decisions.

People Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop the talent team to ensure high-quality service delivery and achievement of strategic talent objectives
  • Set clearly defined performance standards / targets for direct reports, holding them accountable to achieve these and providing support and guidance where needed
  • Create and maintain a constructive atmosphere within the team, engaging and motivating direct reports to always give their best, while respecting any areas of diversity (whether areas of expertise, cultural, gender, age, background, etc.)
  • Ensure direct reports adhere to set business policies and procedures, emphasising the importance of general discipline at work and objectively correcting and handling any deviations as they arise
  • Resource and staff the team appropriately, considering the relevance of current and new jobs as well as the most suitable ways in which to place or replace any vacancies

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in: Human Resource Management, Industrial Psychology, Organisational Psychology, Business Administration, Organisational Development or related Human Capital discipline
  • 8 -10 Years Experience in talent acquisition strategy development and implementation
  • Must have successfully executed talent acquisition strategies that align with organisational goals.
  • Experience managing and integrating multiple components of the full talent value chain within a medium-to-large organisation.
  • Experience within a multi-site, corporate, or listed-company environment.
