Responsibilities Senior Appointments and Governance Coordination

  • Coordinating the operational delivery of senior and executive talent processes.
  • Developing and managing timelines for senior appointments.
  • Drafting job descriptions, advertisements, and supporting documentation.
  • Compiling and circulating agenda packs for Senior Appointments Committee (SAC) meetings.
  • Attending SAC meetings and drafting minutes and recommendation reports.
  • Coordinating and tracking evaluation and verification processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of assessments, reference checks, and pre-employment verifications.
  • Ensuring governance compliance and maintaining audit-ready documentation.

Talent Data, Systems and Reporting

  • Maintaining and improving talent management templates, systems, and tracking tools.
  • Managing talent dashboards and monitoring adherence to timelines.
  • Supporting the preparation of consolidated reports and dashboards.
  • Coordinating operational engagement with HR stakeholders, including Remuneration and HR Client Partners.

Performance Management Coordination

  • Supporting the operational delivery of the Performance Management process.
  • Coordinating coaching processes, including assignments and utilisation tracking.
  • Monitoring deadlines and compliance across performance cycles.
  • Assisting with the preparation of reports and insights on performance management.

Organisational Design and Talent Support

  • Supporting organisational design and job profiling processes.
  • Preparing benchmarking and organisational design documentation.
  • Maintaining Talent Management documentation repository and ensuring alignment with governance requirements.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serving as an operational point of contact for senior stakeholders, including Deans, Deputy Vice-Chancellors (DVCs), and SAC members.
  • Liaising with external service providers where required.
  • Providing a professional, responsive, and solutions-oriented service to stakeholders and candidates.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (NQF
    7) in human resources, industrial psychology, business administration, or a related field.
  • Three years’ relevant, demonstrable experience in talent management operations, including but not limited to coordination of end-to-end recruitment and selection.
  • Strong project coordination and process management capability.
  • Proficiency in HR systems and Microsoft Office (including intermediate Excel).
  • The ability to compile, manage, and report on recruitment and talent process data.
  • Strong document management and attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple processes simultaneously under pressure.
  • High level of professionalism and stakeholder engagement capability.
  • The ability to work independently while supporting a broader team function.
  • Strong written communication skills.

Advantageous

  • Exposure to senior or executive-level recruitment or talent processes.
  • Experience with in a higher education environment.
  • Experience supporting governance or committee-based processes.
