NOBU, the world-renowned Japanese Restaurant, is looking for full-time, evening Sushi Chef to join its Dallas location. A force within the realm of hospitality, NOBU has become one of the best-known brands for the Who’s Who around the world.
Applicants must have 3+ years of sushi experience in a high volume and upscale establishment. Candidate must have a working knowledge of Japanese/Asian cuisine and possess excellent knife skills. This is a tipped position. This position requires that the applicant be punctual, communicate effectively, and maintain composure while multi-tasking in a high-stress environment. Our philosophy is to provide exceptional cuisine, hospitality and grow together!
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time (up to 8–10 hours per shift).
- Must be able to use hands and wrists to perform repetitive cutting, rolling, slicing, and plating motions with precision.
- Must be able to bend, reach, and lift or carry containers and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment with exposure to varying temperatures (refrigeration, heat from stoves, etc.).
- Must be able to see clearly at close range to ensure accuracy in knife work and presentation.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and guests.
- Must have sufficient dexterity and hand–eye coordination to handle sharp knives and delicate ingredients safely.
*Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
