Our esteemed client in Centurion is seeking an experienced On-Site Support Engineer for a permanent position. The role involves providing daily end-user support, maintaining network infrastructure, managing documentation, and liaising with third-party vendors to ensure smooth IT operations and excellent customer service.

Education:

  • A degree or diploma in computer science, information technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Relevant IT certifications, such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or equivalent, are highly desirable.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar technical support role, preferably in an enterprise environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Experience in maintaining and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows Server and client operating systems, Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, and wireless networking.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site technical support to end-users in person and via remote access tools.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Maintain the network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Manage documentation, including system configurations, network diagrams, and user manuals.
  • Liaise with third-party vendors to coordinate hardware repairs, software updates, and other technical support.
  • Ensure compliance with IT policies, procedures, and security standards.
  • Participate in IT projects, such as system upgrades and new software deployments.
  • Monitor and maintain backups and disaster recovery procedures.
  • After hours standby on a rotation schedule.
