As our Supply Chain Assistant, you’ll work alongside our Supply Chain Analyst and Production Planner to help ensure materials are available, production stays on schedule, and our customers receive exceptional service. Position Summary

The Supply Chain Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our supply chain and manufacturing teams. This position helps ensure materials are available when needed, purchasing activities are completed accurately, and production schedules remain on track.

This role is responsible for purchasing activities, maintaining accurate ERP data, monitoring supplier performance, supporting inventory accuracy, and facilitating communication across multiple departments. As a key backup for both the Supply Chain Manager and Production Planner, The Supply Chain Assistant contributes to operational efficiency, continuous improvement, and the overall success of our manufacturing operations.

Essential Responsibilities

Production Planning

  • Assist with daily production planning and scheduling activities.
  • Release and maintain work orders within the ERP system.
  • Monitor production priorities and communicate schedule updates.
  • Help ensure materials are available to support production requirements.
  • Support planning activities to maximize on-time delivery and operational efficiency.

Purchasing & Supply Chain

  • Create, maintain, and monitor purchase orders.
  • Follow up with suppliers regarding order status, lead times, and deliveries.
  • Expedite critical materials and assist in resolving supply shortages.
  • Process receipts and maintain accurate inventory transactions within the ERP system.
  • Review open purchase orders and identify items requiring follow-up.
  • Coordinate with Production, Warehouse, and Customer Service to resolve material availability issues.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier information within the ERP system.

Qualifications

Required

  • Associate degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field; equivalent manufacturing experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing, purchasing, production planning, customer service, or supply chain.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred

  • Experience with an ERP/MRP system (JobBoss and/or SAP experience is a plus).
  • Manufacturing purchasing or production planning experience.
  • Experience analyzing data and preparing operational reports.
  • Knowledge of inventory control principles.

What Success Looks Like

Within your first year, you’ll be:

  • Serving as a reliable backup for both the Supply Chain Manager and Production Planner.
  • Maintaining accurate purchasing and inventory data within our ERP system.
  • Helping ensure materials are available to support production schedules.
  • Building strong relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Communicating proactively about shortages, delays, and purchasing needs.
  • Contributing ideas that improve efficiency and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Becoming a trusted team member others rely on for accuracy, organization, and follow-through
