Projects Primarily in the Southeast

We are seeking an experienced Traveling Marine Superintendent for a well-established heavy civil contractor performing inland marine construction throughout the Southeast.

This is a hands-on field leadership position for a Superintendent who knows how to run crews, equipment, subcontractors, and day-to-day construction operations. The work is primarily inland marine construction, including bulkheads, commercial docks, shoreline work, and underground utility installations beneath ponds, rivers, lakes, and other waterways.

Candidates may live anywhere in the United States but must be comfortable traveling extensively to project locations, primarily throughout the Southeast.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day field operations on inland marine and heavy civil projects.
  • Supervise crews, subcontractors, equipment, and site activities.
  • Coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, and daily production.
  • Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to plans and specifications.
  • Read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Coordinate construction activities involving bulkheads, commercial docks, marine excavation, and underground utilities.
  • Oversee utility installations beneath or adjacent to ponds, rivers, lakes, and waterways.
  • Maintain jobsite safety and enforce company and OSHA requirements.
  • Monitor workmanship and quality throughout construction.
  • Work closely with Project Managers and field leadership to keep projects moving and resolve field issues.
  • Complete required daily reports and basic project documentation.
  • Maintain strong communication with crews, subcontractors, inspectors, and project management.

Qualifications

  • Previous Superintendent or senior field leadership experience in heavy civil, marine, underground utility, or similar construction.
  • Experience with inland marine construction is strongly preferred.
  • Background with projects involving bulkheads, commercial docks, marine excavation, underground utilities, pipelines, or work around waterways is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of field construction methods, equipment, manpower, and production.
  • Ability to read plans and understand project specifications.
  • Proven ability to lead construction crews and maintain a safe, productive jobsite.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • OSHA and construction safety knowledge preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively and remain on project assignments as required.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $120,000 – $140,000 base salary DOE
