Are you a Tekla-proficient detailer who takes pride in precision? Our client, a well-established structural steel and platework fabricator, is looking for an experienced Senior Draughtsman to join their team.
Operating since 1985, our client serves the mining, ferroalloy and platinum sectors, delivering projects across South Africa and into Zambia and Zimbabwe. They work to ISO 9001 standards, with detail and quality at the heart of everything they do.
What you'll do:
🔹 Produce accurate fabrication and erection drawings in Tekla Structures
🔹 Develop GA, assembly, single-part and erection drawings
🔹 Generate BOMs, NC files and fabrication reports
🔹 Manage drawing registers and revision control
🔹 Coordinate with engineers, workshop and site teams
🔹 Mentor and guide junior draughtsmen
What you'll bring:
✅ 5+ years' experience in structural steel detailing
✅ Tekla Structures proficiency (essential)
✅ Strong knowledge of steel connections, assemblies and detailing standards
✅ Solid understanding of fabrication tolerances and erection requirements
✅ Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specs and design calculations
✅ Valid driver's licence (advantageous)
A bonus if you have:
➕ Strumis model import/export experience
➕ SMPP project exposure
➕ CNC data generation and BIM coordination
💰 Remuneration: Dependent on experience and negotiable with the right candidate.
