Overview:
As a Pret A Manger store manager you will be responsible for leading the shop team, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining brand standards and driving financial performance. The role combines operational management, people leadership and commercial accountability.
Key Responsibilities:
· People & Succession: Recruit, onboard, and develop team members; build succession plans; conduct regular 1:1s; promote wellbeing and team happiness.
· Customer Service: Ensure fast, friendly, and consistent service; coach the team to deliver excellent experiences; aim for perfect Mystery Shopper scores.
· Food & Safety: Guarantee food quality and freshness by following production standards; maintain strict food safety and health & safety compliance.
· Operations & Profitability: Own shop P&L; manage forecasting, rotas, ordering, and production; control costs and stock; drive sales growth through merchandising and marketing.
· Change Leadership: Act as an ambassador of change; communicate new initiatives clearly; embed standards; encourage feedback and share best practices across shops.
Minimum Requirements:
· Experience: Previous management experience in retail, hospitality, or food service (Preferably at least 2 years in a supervisory role).
· Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team in a fast-paced environment.
· Customer Focus: Strong commitment to delivering excellent service and handling customer issues effectively.
· Operational Knowledge: Familiarity with food safety, health & safety standards, and daily shop operations.
· Financial Acumen: Basic understanding of budgets, P&L responsibility, and cost control.
· Communication: Clear, confident communication skills to engage both team members and customers.
· Flexibility & Resilience: Ability to work under pressure, adapt to change, and manage peak trading periods. Must have valid drivers licence and own transport.
