Overview of the Role:
This Standards and Compliance Auditor position is being offered as an internal opportunity to support our Cape Town team’s niche group of industry-focused auditors. As a Standards and Compliance Auditor, you will provide specialized auditing services to internationally recognized organizations, ensuring adherence to stringent industry standards. Initially, you will work as part of the auditing team, with the expectation of progressing to Lead Auditor following a comprehensive familiarization and training period.
This high-profile role requires direct engagement with industry experts and the coordination of audits for participating companies worldwide. Audits typically range from 3–5 days and encompass a diverse set of subjects reviewed against defined international standards. At the conclusion of each audit, you will deliver both a verbal presentation of findings and a detailed written report outlining audit results, areas of compliance, and recommendations for improvement.
This position offers the opportunity for extensive international experience, with global travel typically in business class and four-star accommodation provided.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct Comprehensive Audits: Perform audits in line with international standards, industry regulations, and company policies.
Stakeholder Engagement: Engage directly with industry stakeholders to assess and verify compliance within relevant frameworks.
Reporting: Prepare and deliver detailed audit reports, including executive summaries and risk assessments. Present findings professionally in both written and verbal formats.
Coordination: Work with international teams and organizations to schedule and execute audits efficiently.
Timely Deliverables: Ensure audits are conducted within established timeframes and deliverables are met.
Recommendations: Provide actionable recommendations to clients on areas for improvement and compliance enhancements.
Industry Awareness: Stay updated on the latest compliance regulations, security standards, and industry best practices.
Leadership & Teamwork: Work collaboratively within a team while also demonstrating the ability to lead and manage audit projects.
What You’ll Bring:
The ideal candidate is a highly analytical and methodical professional with expertise in auditing management systems based on international standards. Experience within the telecommunications industry, manufacturing processes, or information security audits will be considered an advantage.
Education & Experience: 5+ years of experience in IT audit, compliance, or relevant fields.
Industry Knowledge: Understanding of Information Technology compliance, including:
GSMA Security Accreditation Scheme (SAS)
Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS)
SIM card or scratch card manufacturing
ISO security policies
Audit Experience: Experience auditing manufacturing processes and controls is beneficial.
Certifications: CISA, CISM, CISSP, CIPP, or ISO27001 Lead Auditor (preferred).
Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Windows/Active Directory environments; high proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
General IT Controls: Experience with security risk management methodologies, physical and logical security, production management, HR policies, disaster recovery/business continuity, networking controls, and encryption tools.
Security Protocols: Familiarity with Windows and Linux/UNIX security protocols.
Travel: Valid driver’s license and passport; ability to obtain a criminal clearance certificate.
Key Attributes: Fluent in English, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, highly organized, excellent time management, strong communication skills, ability to work under pressure, trustworthy, excellent teamwork and leadership skills, proactive attitude.
Additional Information
Background Screening: All job offers are contingent on successful completion of a comprehensive background screening process, which may include a polygraph test.
Periodic Screening: Periodic security and integrity screenings will be conducted throughout employment.
Travel: Willingness and ability to travel internationally on short notice for periods of up to 21 consecutive days.
