In this role, you will be responsible for preparing wood surfaces and applying high-quality primers, paints, stains, and clear topcoats within our dedicated spray booth. The ideal candidate possesses a keen eye for aesthetic detail, and a strong commitment to workshop safety. Prior experience maintaining and operating industrial spray equipment preferred.

Core Responsibilities

  • Surface Preparation: Sand, clean, patch, and mask cabinet doors, drawer fronts, trims, and panels to guarantee optimal finish adhesion and flawless smoothness.
  • Spray Application: Select, mix, and expertly apply stains, paints, lacquers, and sealers using airless, air assist, cup gun spray equipment.
  • Quality Control: Inspect completed pieces under proper lighting for color consistency, runs, drips, or surface imperfections, performing touch-ups as needed.
  • Equipment & Booth Maintenance: Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance on spray guns, pumps, filters, and ventilation systems to ensure a clean, dust-free environment.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere tightly to all shop safety protocols, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and respirators when handling chemical coatings.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: 1+ years of experience in wood finishing, automotive painting, or working in an industrial spray booth setting.
  • Technical Skill: Direct familiarity with different wood coatings (solvent or water-based) and fluid mix ratios.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long intervals, bend, squat, and comfortably lift up to 50lbs regularly.
  • Attention to Detail: Excellent color vision and a sharp eye for detecting minor surface flaws.
  • Reliability: Strong work ethic, punctual attendance, and the ability to work productively with minimal supervision.

Pay: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
