Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Spray in Bedliner Technician to join our dynamic automotive team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying durable, high-quality bedliner coatings to trucks and other vehicles, enhancing their appearance and protection. Your expertise in surface preparation, spraying techniques, and vehicle maintenance will ensure each application meets our rigorous standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge spray equipment and contribute to vehicle customization and protection projects.
Duties
- Prepare vehicle surfaces by cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming to ensure optimal adhesion of bedliner coatings
- Operate spray guns, including airless paint sprayers and conventional spray equipment, to apply textured bedliner coatings evenly across vehicle beds and panels
- Perform surface preparation tasks such as grinding, buffing, and auto body repair to achieve a smooth finish before coating application
- Use hand tools and power tools safely for sanding, grinding, masking, and minor repairs as needed
- Conduct quality inspections of finished applications, ensuring consistent texture, coverage, and adherence to specifications
- Maintain a clean work environment by properly handling paints, coatings, solvents, and respiratory protection gear in compliance with safety standards
- Assist with auto restoration projects by applying automotive paint and coatings using auto painting techniques and surface preparation skills
Experience
- Dealership experience or background working within an automotive service environment preferred
- Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance and repair processes
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, grinders, buffing equipment, and power tools used in auto refinishing
- Familiarity with automotive buffing, detailing, auto glass installation, and auto estimating is advantageous
- Knowledge of spray painting methods including conventional spraying and airless paint spraying systems
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while handling vehicle parts or materials during application processes
- Prior experience in auto restoration or automotive body refinishing is highly desirable but not necessary.
