The Role
To ensure the highest standards of customer service is delivered and sales turnover targets met through effective people management and enforcement of retail disciplines at store level.
Line Manager: Regional Manager
Number of Direct Reports: All Flexi timers and Permanent Staff within the store
Job Specification:
Customer Centricity
Development a service ethic culture within the store environment
Implementation of a customer service improvement action plan as per the mystery shopper report
Internal & external customer relationship building
In store coaching and on-going training of skills
People Leadership
Appropriate customers centric stores staff recruited
Performance management including meaningful IPA’s, regular one-on-ones and completed performance reviews
Staff held accountable with recognition, reward, sanction and discipline
Development of staff through coaching and training sessions
Translation and communication of business objectives, policies and procedures
Delivery of targets in turnover, profitability, visual merchandise & control
Daily sales tracking of each employee
Understand income statement and manage expenses
Track Stock availability according to customer needs
Understand & manage in store controls
Housekeeping and visual merchandising
Use of key retail disciplines in management of the store
Understand and deliver trading density
Deliver basket size targets
Salary to sale ratio’s (staff planning)
Minimum Requirements:
Complete Matric/Grade 12
Tertiary Retail Qualification will be to your advantage
Minimum 5 years’ retail experience
Minimum of 12 – 18 months management experience
Additional Requirements:
Knowledge of relevant Industrial Relations (IR) Law & initiate enquiries
Understanding of profit and loss (income) statements
Good understanding of the retail environment and brands
Administration and stock management
Stock management
Merchandising and housekeeping
