Job Title: Experienced Sommelier (Part-Time, Weekends Only)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and polished Sommelier to join our team on a weekend-only basis to lead wine pairings and tastings at our curated events. This role is ideal for a wine professional who understands premium service, is passionate about South African wines, and can create an engaging yet refined wine experience for our guests.
Key Responsibilities
Present and serve a curated selection of in-house wines during private and brand-hosted events.
Provide expert pairing recommendations in alignment with the set menu or light tasting platters.
Deliver short, informative introductions to each wine, including origin, varietal notes, and tasting profiles.
Engage guests with wine storytelling and elevate their overall tasting experience.
Ensure optimal wine service (correct temperatures, glassware, and presentation).
Act as a wine ambassador for the brand, upholding a high standard of professionalism and product knowledge.
Requirements
Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in wine service or hospitality.
WSET Level 2+, Sommelier certification, or equivalent qualification required.
Deep understanding of wine styles, varietals, and food pairings—especially South African wines.
Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
Well-groomed, articulate, and confident in hosting premium clientele.
Available for Saturday and/or Sunday bookings (day or evening events).
Remuneration

Bonus Skills
Previous experience with private tastings, luxury events, or wine brand launches.
Ability to guide guests through vertical tastings or comparative pairings.
Experience with client-facing service in lifestyle, hospitality, or culinary spaces.
