Your day at NTT DATA
NTT DATA is seeking a highly skilled Software Applications Development Engineer to design, build, modernize, and optimize cloud-native applications and platforms for enterprise customers. This role combines software engineering, cloud architecture, Dev Ops, AI-driven application development, and infrastructure automation to deliver scalable and secure solutions across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
The ideal candidate is passionate about cloud technologies, modern application development, platform engineering, and leveraging AI services to accelerate business outcomes. While AWS is our primary cloud platform, experience across multiple cloud providers is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud-Native Application Development
Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native applications using modern software engineering practices.
Build scalable backend services and APIs using Type Script, Node.js, Python, and other modern programming languages.
Develop responsive web applications using React and modern front-end frameworks.
Design and implement microservices-based architectures running on container platforms.
Collaborate with solution architects, cloud engineers, and customers to define technical requirements and solution designs.
Cloud Engineering & Platform Services
Design, deploy, and manage solutions across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments.
Implement AWS-native services including:
AWS ECSAWS FargateAWS Control TowerAWS Lambda Amazon API Gateway Amazon RDSDynamoDBS3
CloudWatchIAM
Participate in cloud migration and modernization engagements.
Optimize cloud architectures for security, scalability, resilience, and cost efficiency.
Infrastructure as Code & Automation
Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using:
TerraformAWS Cloud Formation
Automate infrastructure provisioning and application deployments.
Implement platform engineering best practices and reusable infrastructure patterns.
Maintain cloud governance and compliance standards.
Dev Ops & CI/CD
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using:
GitHubAWS Developer Tools Modern Dev Ops tooling
Implement automated testing, deployment, and release management practices.
Support continuous integration and continuous delivery across cloud environments.
Drive Dev Sec Ops best practices throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
AI & Machine Learning Solutions
Design and develop AI-powered applications using:
Amazon BedrockAWS AI/ML Services Lang Graph
Integrate Generative AI capabilities into customer solutions.
Build intelligent workflows, agents, and business automation solutions.
Collaborate with customers to identify AI use cases and implementation opportunities.
Engineering Excellence
Perform code reviews and mentor junior engineers.
Ensure applications meet quality, security, and performance standards.
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and cross-functional teams.
Produce high-quality technical documentation and architectural diagrams.
Continuously evaluate emerging cloud and AI technologies.
To Thrive in This Role, You Need
Technical Skills
Strong understanding of software engineering principles and cloud-native architecture.
Strong proficiency in:
Type Script Java Script Python
Experience with modern front-end development using:
ReactHTML5
CSS3
Experience building RESTful APIs and event-driven architectures.
Solid understanding of containerization technologies and cloud-native development patterns.
Experience with:
AWS ECSAWS Fargate Docker Kubernetes (advantageous)
Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Cloud Formation.
Knowledge of CI/CD practices and Git Hub Actions.
Working knowledge of cloud networking, security, identity management, and observability.
Cloud Skills
Strong experience with AWS cloud services.
Knowledge of Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
