Role Overview
We are looking for a smart, curious, and execution-focused Social Media Intern (all locations welcome, but preference will be placed on interns based in the US or South Africa – where most of our audience are from) to help grow Pandora Health’s digital presence.
You will work closely with the founders to co-create content ideas, and take ownership of executing, posting, and managing content across platforms.
This role is ideal for someone who is deeply interested in health, science, and medicine, obsessed with social media trends and content performance, and excited to use AI tools to create and scale content.
Key Responsibilities
· Content Creation & Execution
· Collaborate on ideas for posts (Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn)
· Create and format content (captions, carousels, short-form posts, etc.)
· Schedule and publish content consistently across platforms
· Ensure content aligns with Pandora Health’s voice and brand
· Social Media Management
· Manage daily posting across all platforms
· Monitor engagement and respond where appropriate
· Stay on top of platform trends and algorithm changes
· Growth & Optimization
· Track performance metrics (engagement, reach, conversions)
· Suggest improvements based on analytics
· Experiment with new formats, hooks, and viral frameworks
· AI & Tools
· Use AI tools to improve efficiency and creativity
· Help build repeatable systems for content creation and distribution
Ideal Candidate
· Background
· Ideally based in South Africa or US (global applications welcome)
· Available to work 4 p.m. – 9 p.m. SAST / 10am – 5pm EST
· Background or strong interest in biology, health sciences, or medicine
· Honours or Master’s degree is a strong plus (not required)
· Skills & Attributes
· Strong writing skills and excellent communication skills
· Highly organized and reliable
· Proactive and able to take ownership and be self-driven
· Creative thinker with a strong sense of what works on social media
· Up to date with health, wellness, and medical content trends
· Technical
· Comfortable with Instagram, Facebook, X, and LinkedIn
· Familiar with AI tools and Canva (or willing to learn)
· Familiar with social media scheduling tools
