Skills Development Training Coordinator Jobs in Cape Town, South Africa at O’Brien Recruitment

We are looking for a skills development coordinator who will be responsible for the full end-to-end administration, coordination, and implementation of all learning and development initiatives. This is a hands‑on operational role requiring direct execution of training administration, SETA processes, learnership management, reporting, and compliance activities.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Develop and implement annual and operational training plans aligned to business needs, WSP/ATR objectives, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate and oversee training delivery, quality assurance, and performance measurement.
  • Design and implement accredited and non-accredited training programmes in line with organisational and SETA
  • Manage end-to-end training administration, including scheduling, provider coordination, learner communication, documentation, attendance tracking, purchase orders, and invoice processing.
  • Maintain accurate training records across LMS, SharePoint, and compliance files.
  • Compile and submit WSP and ATR reports.
  • Ensure compliance with the Skills Development Act and relevant SETA requirements (e.g., TETA).
  • Maintain audit‑ready documentation and support SETA verification processes.
  • Manage Mandatory and Discretionary Grant applications, implementation tracking, and reporting to maximise grant recovery.
  • Coordinate and administer learnerships, internships, and other structured learning programmes, ensuring full contractualand regulatory compliance.
  • Provide accurate Skills Development reporting for BBBEE verification and maintain supporting documentation.
  • Budget & Financial Control
  • Support training budget tracking, grant spend reconciliation, and month‑end reporting.

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Grade 12 and a relevant tertiary qualification in Learning & Development, HR, or related field
  • SDF (Skills Development Facilitator) qualification
  • Train‑the‑Trainer qualification (advantageous)
  • 3–5 years’ experience in Learning & Development coordination
  • Proven experience with SETA processes, WSP/ATR submissions, grant management, and accredited training administration
  • Experience in learnership coordination and BBBEE Skills Development reporting
  • High attention to detail with a compliance‑driven approach
  • Strong Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook)
